August Black Girl Joy Meetup: Once on This Island at Dogwood Dell

This month, we’re stepping into a story—under the stars, in community, with snacks in hand.

Join us on Sunday, August 17 at 7:15 PM for Once on This Island at Dogwood Dell, Richmond’s beloved outdoor theater tradition. This joyful, moving musical follows a young girl on a journey of love, loss, and transformation—set on a lush Caribbean island where gods and storms collide.

We'll gather as a group and enjoy the performance with a curated charcuterie snack box and drink, included in your $7 registration.

📍 Location: Dogwood Dell Amphitheater (600 S Arthur Ashe Blvd, Richmond, VA)
🕢 Arrival: Please arrive by 7:15 PM to get your snack, connect with others, and settle in before showtime
🎟 Cost: $7 (covers snack + drink)

Though the event is free and open to the public, this meetup is curated just for us.

What to bring (optional):

  • Chair and/or blanket

  • Fan

  • Bug spray

  • Small light or flashlight

Let’s gather in joy and take in the magic of local theater together.
